A Bakewell & D Duke

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES ON DEMETRIUS DUKE Married in England to Adrienne de Bruyn. I have two children. I am now retired in Cyprus. In the past I ran successfully my own printing works and acted as chief editor of a weekly political paper. I am a political analyst as well as a writer of several articles and papers which have been printed in the local press. My several books, mostly historical novels, had been sponsored by the ministry of Education and Culture of the Cyprus Republic. I write in English and Greek and have a long connection with the English Book market through my membership of The Folio Society and the London Book Review. As you might have guessed I am a Cypriot. The surname Duke is a translation of the Greek Dukas. I use the English version because the book will be sold to English speaking people and this is how I am known to my English readers, who appreciatively call me ‘‘The Duke’’ BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES ON ANDY BAKEWELL Following my University Studies, I worked as a Publicity, Design and Public Relations Consultant. Currently I am the Managing Director of Graphis Apsis Advertising Organisation, Publications Director and Lecturer at the Cyprus Institute of Marketing. I wrote a number of books and my work has been published in Cyprus and abroad. I organised numerous Festivals and Artistic Events and produced and presented my own Radio Programme with Channel 6 and I am a member of most Artistic and Cultural Committees. I have presented four cartoon solo exhibitions, a sculpture exhibition, took part in numerous International Exhibitions, and represented Cyprus, at the International Exhibition ‘‘Cartoon Aid – Help the Children Smile’’, during the Olympic Games. I am presented by all Media and reference to me is made in most encyclopaedias. I am a member of: The Chartered Institute of Marketing, The Chartered Management Institute, The Academy of Multi Skills, The Institute of Management Specialists, The International Association of Authors of Comics & Cartoons, etc. NOTE: Andy Bakewell is the name foreigners know me by. My real name is Andy Psimenopoulos, Bakewell being the English translation of my surname.
