Belagur S.N. Prasad

After obtaining his MSc degree in Physics (1958) from Central College Bangalore, Prasad worked as a lecturer for a year, and then at the Chief Inspectorate of Electronics (Ministry of Defence) Bangalore (1959-64). He was a research fellow at the University of New England (UNE) Armidale, Australia (1964 - 67) and teacher fellow at Utkal University, Orissa (1977-80). Dr. Prasad joined the University of Mysore (1968), teaching PG students first at the University PG center, Mangalore (1968-80) and later at Manasagangotri, Mysore (1981-95). Prof. Prasad continued with the research projects as emeritus scientist (1995-2004) after retirement. Beginning with studies on Ionosphere D region at UNE, he has conducted research on atmospheric aerosols, Solar UV radiation, Atmospheric Electricity, Green house gases etc. He has participated in several scientific conferences and symposia in India and abroad. He is the author of three books in Kannada: ‘Electricity and us’, ‘Dumb friends’ and ‘Niranthara’. The present book Quest Eternal is the English translation of Niranthara.
