Born in Northumberland, Evelyn is the eldest of four children. Began ‘teaching’ in backyard at a very early age!!
She is married with three grown-up children: One Boy and two girls and two grand-daughters.
Ex-primary schoolteacher; Evelyn also taught English to foreign students. She began writing at age of eight (or so her mother reckons!), contributed to college magazine
and ‘dabbled’ with plays and poetry.
Mostly writing factual accounts – often of ‘campaigning’ nature! (‘The pen is mightier than the sword’!)
Evelyn is a regular contributor to local newspaper and she has had poems printed in the East Midlands Anthology and various magazines.
She learned how to’ research’ during a fight to save local playing field from developers! As a result was given regular monthly column on local current affairs on-line magazine.
Evelyn has also worked as a free-lance proof reader whilst continuing with her own writing.
Evelyn’s first book published was an autobiographical account of her early childhood:
‘Margaret ‘n’ Me’.
‘The Celtic Circle’ is my first attempt at fiction.
