Born in the State of Oregon, U.S.A., in 1939, Jim Leslie grew up near the sea, source of many dreams for a boy with a very active imagination. Casting daydreams upon the cold, North Pacific waves, he was to reclaim many of those dreams years later from the warm waters surrounding Hawai’i. A fascination with Oceanic voyaging and the cultures of the South Pacific, developed during more than a decade of living in Hawai’i, led to many years of serious study of the exploration and settling of Oceania. After a varied career as a sculptor, artist, landscaper, training facilitator and garden designer, Jim now lives in Queensland, Australia where he pursues a new career as a writer. New discoveries in archaeology and anthropology mean that a sequel to ‘The Mal’lam Voyagers’ is a given. That story is now a work-in-progress along with a collection of short stories.
