Judy Godlieb

Judy Godlieb was born on the 12th of December 1961 in (Ceylon) Sri Lanka to Fredrick and Deborah Godlieb of European-Asian decent. She is the first grandchild of the third generation of the Godlieb’s and the grand-daughter of the all Ceylon National Champion boxer, Bobby Godlieb, who was known as the ‘Wonder Boxer’ who won two fights in 20 minutes in the early 1930’s. Her father was an Engine Driver in the Ceylon Government Railway. Her mother died of leukemia when she was 9 years old and Judy was at her bedside watching her die. She lost her father when she was 19. Judy completed her education at the Good Shepherd Convents Colombo and Kandy , Sri Lanka and lived her life in the convent and boarding school after she lost her mother. She has one sister who is six years younger than her. She married at the age of 22. She was widowed at the age of 35. Her son Shane Senewiratne who is 23 years and her only child, works for Vodafone in Doha, Qatar. Judy’s life revolves around her son Shane and she lives for him. She left permanent employment to take up freelance writing which also became her main source of income when her son was at school. She wrote over 50 articles on Macau and Hong Kong for www.travellereyes.com a company based in Hong Kong. She has done ghostwriting, articles and religious writing and has contributed to www.articlesbase.com. She has traveled and lived in Singapore, Dubai, Malaysia and Maldives where she worked for 5 years as a Human Resources Manager for a construction company. Diagnosed with cancer while on annual vacation from Maldives, she left employment permanently and had several surgical operations. She is now fully recovered miraculously, by the grace of God. Her son Shane took over the responsibilities. Her dream was to have a book published and she started writing about the Maldives. Her dream was realized the day Torquil Riley-Smith accepted her manuscript to be published on www.abook2read.com LIFE OF RILEY PRODUCTIONS LIMITED in the U.K. She hopes to complete a novel she has been writing titled SADNESS BEYOND THE HEART which is nearing completion and to continue writing on different subjects in the future. A born Catholic by faith, Judy has lot of faith in the Blessed Virgin Mary and in God. She lives in Sri Lanka in the hill country Kandy, and her hobbies are watching TV, reading, gardening, and writing.
