Peter Muya

Pastor PETER NJOROGE MUYA was born in Nakuru town. His father Muya was a reckless man and a perpetual drunkard. Peter’s mother was a kind woman who was incredibly generous. She had a special gift for hospitality and used to spend most of her time preparing food for the family and for the relatives who would come to live with them for varying periods of time. Even though their resources were very uncertain, his mother could always spare a cup of tea or a plate of food for one more visitor at home. It was from this humble beginning that Pastor Peter N Muya was brought up. Muya’s life was difficult as a young person. In school and after school life was boring without hope. Gradually he took to drugs and when he was sick of living this way, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal saviour, a step that completely changed his life for the better. From a drug addict, he became an ambassador for Christ. Though he was young, he was a powerful gospel preacher who loved winning souls in his village. After some years in Kiambogo, he was appointed to be a full time pastor in the Full Gospel Church where he was saved. That’s where he met Mary Gathoni, a Christian lady and a teacher in the village school. They fell in love, and four years later, they married. She began helping him fulfill his mission of reaching souls for Christ and she also supported him financially. After serving the Lord faithfully as a pastor with the Full Gospel Church for a couple of years and the Redeemed Gospel Church for ten years, he started his own ministry in Nairobi. From the early stages of ministry, Muya was keenly interested in lost souls. Not only that, he lectured on soul winning in the church, and was encouragement to many. He could lead Christians in the open-air and in the markets. At home, you could see him reading the Bible, other Christian books and magazines on soul winning before going to work in the church. He held meetings in the church preached salvation for souls and he imputed righteousness. He was known as a gospel messenger. REV. PETER N. MUYA is an experienced pastor, preacher and missionary. He is the Director of community based projects and co-founder of Gospel Messengers Fellowship, in Kenya. He is the presiding Pastor of Gospel Messengers Fellowship in Githurai 45 Nairobi.
