Traiano Welcome was born in 1978 in the tiny African Kingdom of Lesotho, to parents of Indian and Italian descent and grew up in the Republic of South Africa.
After dropping out of university, he wandered the the world for years in search of philosophical mercury and sometimes just stayed in his room, where bouts of creative incontinence (and heavy metal music) drove him to the occasional literary endeavour.
The author is a devout seeker after fine and rare coffees, an incurable tinkerer with the insides of machines, a dabbler in ancient history and a student of Zoroaster, Gautama Buddha and the venerable W. Richard Stevens. He currently lives in Cape Town, South Africa and in between developing software for an internet service provider, runs a moderately successful message-bottling company. One day, he hopes to retire to a small room in an ivory tower where he will devote himself to many obscure and arcane arts.
