A graduate in Economics and a Masters Degree holder in both Marketing Management and Business Administration and also a Chartered Marketer, Professor Vidanage P. Karunaratne functioned as a Senior Executive attached to several state sector and private sector institutions in Sri Lanka during a long period of time, prior to embarking on a professional career in lecturing at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, the premier Business University in Sri Lanka and also on the task of training Senior Executives employed in large business organizations in Sri Lanka. Presently too, he functions as a Free-lance Senior Management, Marketing and Training Consultant. He has produced a number of books on “first-ever” innovative themes and a couple of extraordinary and controversial novels in his own vernacular- Sinhalese. The present novel titled “The Case of the Pink Panties and Hankies—An Extraordinary and Controversial Love Story” is his first novel written in English. Being a widely travelled person in countries situated both in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres in the World, currently he is engaged inter alia in a full-time career in writing and could be found at his private residence at # 3A, Wimalawatta Road, Nugegoda, Sri Lanka.
